Tom Rutlin Audio - A 'must listen' to Interview for anyone with an interest in Nordic Walking
.
I highly recommend that you listen to the following fascinating audio interview featuring the founding father of our sport, Wisconsin, USA resident Tom Rutlin (photo).
I am convinced that you will be so glad that you took time out to listen. Tom presents many aspects of Nordic Walking in a way that will be entirely new for many people.
Whether you are taking a look at Nordic Walking for the first time or you are a seasoned campaigner. Whether you are an enthusiast or an instructor; whatever your interest in Nordic Walking, after hearing Tom Rutlin's thoughts and philosophies I am sure you will look at Nordic Walking in a new 'even more' positive light.
If you are anything like me I bet the first thing that you will want to do when the interview ends, is to grab your poles and head out thedoor!
Here's the link to the audio:
http://www.lauralee.com/index.cgi?pid=3107.
..Once there, just click the 'Listen to Audio' link, turn up your speakers and sit back and enjoy the show... (it lasts for 50 minutes - so grab a cool drink.)

ps. In the audio Nordic Walking is refered to as 'Exerstriding'. Exerstriding is the original form of Nordic Walking first pioneered by Tom Rutlin in the USA in 1985 (12 years before ski pole manufacturers Exel launched Nordic Walking in Finland).

Here's Some Great Short Nordic Walking Videos to View
.
My thanks to Ildiko Szigeti and Steve Oakes of Botsport.hu (Botsportis Hungarian for 'Pole Sport') for this information.
Botsport have produced a series of short videos that include examples of Nordic Walking, Nordic Walking training and some great group participation exercises (great fun as you can see from the response of the participants in the video).
I think these short videos really show the spirit of what NordicWalking is all about, a fun particiaption sport for people of allages. Young children, parents, grandparents - Generally people of all ages outside having fun and enjoying exercise together.
Here's the Botsport website: http://www.botsport.hu/
The website is in Hungarian, but the films have music only, and youcan find them by clicking "film és képgalleria" and then "vidéok".
Happy Nordic Walking...

Nordic Walking All Over The World in Over 50 Countries & Territories !
.
When two and a half years ago someone said to me - “David you ought to check out Nordic Walking" - and I sat down at my home computer and keyed the words "Nordic Walking" into the Google search engine... I never imagined for one moment that within 30 months I would be responsible for three Nordic Walking Publications:
- Nordic Walking News (http://www.nordicwalkingnewsonline.com/)
- Nordic Walking eCommunity (http://www.nordicwalkingecommunity.com/)
- Nordic Walking Step by Step (http://www.nordicwalkingstepbystep.com/)
... let alone have people reading them in over 50 countries and territories around the world...
I find that absolutely staggering and I’m somewhat bemused, particularly when you consider it's just little ol' me, sat here typing away on my home computer. All I can say is… Isn’t the Internet an amazing means by which to communicate?
So I’d just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported my efforts to help spread the good news about this fantastic sport all across the world. I feel very humble, you are all wonderful people and I really appreciate you!
For the record here are the 54 countries & territories that I have been able to identify from people's email extensions (eg .US = USA, .CA = Canada, .FR = France etc) ...
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Luxembourg, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Oman, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Island, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Slovak Republic (Slovakia), Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, USA, Wales.
Note: If your country or territory is not listed, please let me know so that I can update my list, by emailing me at:
